Zev OZ9C Elite Hypercomp X - New rules for IDPA mean more Fun!

My journey began back in 2020 with IDPA matches being my initial venture into action pistol. In the short time I’ve been involved, I’ve watched the rules on equipment make big changes in a short time largely to keep with the trends of what manufactures are now producing. 2022, allowed 5” Bul barrel guns (up from 4.25”) and other modifications… but 2023 was a real overhaul with Compensators and Ported Barrels being permitted for competition in IDPA… Specifically in Carry Optics, ESP, and CCP.

While I would say the mechanical advantage of an extra 3/4 of an inch wouldn’t be an exploitable gain… one notable feature DOES reduce muzzle flip upto 30% … which can be noticeable. This leads into our review of the Zev OZ9 Hypercomp X which has a ported barrel making this setup ideal for those who prefer the agility of a lightweight gun while maintaining a flat shooting experience. This gun fits that bill well…

In this video, I detail out what the first impressions are as well as the shooting experience. I even took to an out-of-state Major match to try it out. Enjoy!
