Showdown! Glock 45 ~vs~ Zev OZ9C Hypercomp X ~vs~ DC Precision DC9R
When a general design yields such strong attributes… it can lead to innovation from others out there. This is the case we have here in which Glock has a platform that has sustained the test of time. It’s simple and incredibly effective which is why its a favorite among all Gun Enthusiast, Military and LEO.
With its increased popularity, many aftermarket companies have emerged to either provide improvements or even enhanced the platform with their own design. However, does spending additional cash actually yield prominent performance? This is what this showdown answers!
In this video, I share my experience with my Budget-Build Glock 45 build versus the evolved Zev OZ9c Hypercomp X and the ultimate execution of a Glock… the DC Precision DC9R.
Specifications (click on titles for more details on each Gun)
New MSRP of $620 in Q2 of 2023
I bought this one lightly used for $515
MOS
4inch barrel and slide combo you’d find on a G19 with essentially full-size grip you see on the G17
With an MSRP of $1899 on their website it is nearly 3x
This has a similar footprint as a G45 and as you compare the size it’s about the same
You can actually use the same holster but may want to consider longer screws as the Zev is naturally wider and needs to have more room in order to function properly
This comes with the Full-size Grip with a 1911 angle
Ported island barrel
Modular design to add on different grips etc
Coming at a little over 2.5 of the Zev is DC9R at an MSRP $5000
This is a gun meant to have the very best and and truly be something special
Its modularity has more in common with a 2011 as the frame and grip are two separate components with the frame being steel and grip aluminum
Everything is hand fitted so the tolerance and feel are nice and tight.
