Budget Build for USPSA and IDPA Carry Optics on a Budget with a Glock 45 MOS
he one thing I love about our sport is how it rewards the athlete/shooter for developing skill and craft over what equipment you buy. Being a long time Racecar Driver and involved in Motorsports for a majority of my life … where equipment CAN make a big difference.
With Action Pistol, I would argue that nearly 99% of shooters out in the world would not be able to extract any competitive advantage that a pistol may have mechanically speaking. This is why I created this short article and video about my Glock G45 Budget Build. I want people that are curious to understand that access to the finest equipment is NOT a barrier to entry.
The criteria for this build was that I had to be able to compete in both USPSA and IDPA specifically in Carry Optics due to the popularity and ammo requirement (9mm Factory Ammo). There were no modifications to the gun itself such as trigger, springs etc… 100% factory. The my budget was under $1k.
In this video, I go over my experience and detail of the criteria and how spending the most doesn’t mean automatic success. I’ll leave a complete list of resources for you below in case you want to see where you too can source these items. Enjoy!
